Follow one instruction at a time
Direction questions may use letters, numbered positions, routes, turns or reference points. The key is to apply the instruction in the stated order without skipping a step or reversing clockwise and anticlockwise movement.
At first, trace each movement deliberately. With practice, group short instruction sequences while keeping the starting position clear.
Avoid common direction errors
Most mistakes come from changing the reference direction, counting the starting position incorrectly or applying the second instruction from the original point. Review the exact step where your answer diverged.
